Here are some of the questions we are asked most often:


QuestionWhen are you open?

Answer

Generally, Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., June to October but days and hours may vary due to weather conditions.



QuestionIs there an entrance fee?

Answer

No, there is no entrance fee; however, a donation is appreciated for any fresh produce picked at the Gardens.



QuestionHow do I volunteer to work at the Gardens?

Answer

Complete the volunteer application form and submit it to administrator@bbfg.org or in person at the Gardens at 62 Park St., Ripley.

QuestionWhere are you located?

Answer

We are located at 62 Park St., Ripley, ON N0G 2R0 at the south end of town opposite the soccer fields.

QuestionDo you offer group tours?

Answer

Yes, we welcome group tours when scheduled prior to your visit. Contact the Coordinator at gardenmanager@bbfg.org to book a tour.



QuestionWhat kind of plants are grown at the Gardens?

Answer

Sustainable, organic food plants of the rare, endangered and heirloom varieties are grown. Every plant in the garden is edible!



QuestionCan I bring my dog to the Gardens?

Answer

Because of health concerns, dogs are not allowed in the Gardens. There are two walking trails within close proximity to the Gardens where you can exercise your dog before or after your visit.

QuestionAre there picnic facilities at the Gardens?

Answer

The best place for a picnic near the Gardens is at Lewis Park. There are picnic tables, a splash pad, a playground for children and washroom facilities. Lewis Park is located at the corner of Huron and Queen Streets in downtown Ripley.



QuestionDo you offer programs for children?

Answer

Yes, we have programs for children such as the Greenhorn Gourmet and the Junior Stewardship programs.  Contact the Coordinator at administrator@bbfg.org for more information.
